Staying Safe in the Digital World
The ICT Service has a long history of supporting schools with e-safety issues since the Internet became widely used in the 1990s. We work closely with Cambridgeshire’s Education Child Protection and PSHE Services to provide training and education materials.

'ACE' Accredited Competence in E-safety
Being safe online and behaving responsibly are important aspects of using the internet effectively.
ACE is a scheme for children using a learning platform to show that they are adopting safe behaviours and deserve to be awarded the Accredited Competence in E-Safety. Children demonstrate that they are becoming digitally mature by completing a series of tasks. The tasks are organised into three levels:
- Bronze: showing awareness of how technology keeps you safe
- Silver: developing independence and managing a greater range of online activities
- Gold: presenting an online identity and managing risk effectively anytime, anywhere.
